I have had a lifelong obsession with maps, geography, and the way the earth looks from above.

Map and Maker Studios allows me to combine my background in GIS and geographic data with a passion for cartography and design.

Every map in this shop, whether digital or a hand-carved linocut print, starts with real geographic data sourced from the OpenStreetMap project. The streets, buildings, rivers, parks, and railways you see are all real. My artistic goal is to strip each city down to its essential geometry and let the patterns speak for themselves.

I grew up near Minneapolis, Minnesota, which was the first digital and hand printed map I made. The rest of the cities in my collection are places I've traveled, places I love, and places I'm still dreaming of visiting someday.
